Progressive California Democrat Ro Khanna (D-CA) sparked fury this week after he posted a clip featuring both him and Holocaust revisionist and conspiracy theorist Ian Carroll — who often co-hosts Candace Owens’s show. Khanna later acknowledged on X that he wasn’t involved in the clip he shared, despite being in it and boosting it. He also claimed he did not know who Carroll is.
In the clip, Carroll says, “93 out of 100 U.S. senators were taking money from a group that represents a foreign government and foreign interests in order to operate our government on behalf of someone else. And they all work here, in this building.”
A narrator then adds, “This is Representative Ro Khanna from California, and he does not take AIPAC money according to the website Track AIPAC. Here’s what he had to say.” The clip then shows Khanna saying:
I mean, it’s too much. All these super PACs are too much. I don’t take a dime of PAC money, lobbyist money, since I’ve been in Congress, and I don’t believe in super PACs. And so I can vote my conscience. But if you have people who have a particular point of view—in AIPAC’s case, they’re basically “whatever Netanyahu does is right,” that’s their point of view. And they’re saying, “Okay, you don’t have that view, we may come after you.”
RedState writer Bonchie reacted to Khanna’s post, writing, “Dude posted a video with a rabid neo-nazi so he could virtue signal about not taking money from the…18th largest lobbying firm. Just incredible.”
The Dispatch’s Jonah Goldberg replied to Khanna, saying, “This wasn’t your finest moment dude.” Khanna replied to Goldberg and tried to put some distance between himself and the post (which remains up), “Fair criticism of vetting who is in videos we post. I never spoke to Ian for this or knew who he was.”
Khanna also added, “This was a documentary made by Tommy G who interviewed me. I did not speak to or meet Ian Carrol. I stand by my words and should be judged by them.”
Controversial Trump ally Laura Loomer took aim at Carroll and Khanna over the post and highlighted some of Carroll’s more outlandish posts in recent months:
In a new low, Democrat Congressman @RoKhanna is promoting a documentary by Ian Carroll, who falsely accused Israel of murdering Charlie Kirk less than an hour after Kirk was killed. Days ago, Ian insinuated that @TPUSA participated in the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Why is a Democrat member of Congress who just spoke at Arab Con where attendees celebrated October 7th and demonized Trump promoting a rabid Jew hater?
It’s obvious Ro Khanna is a complete radical.
Disgraceful behavior from a member of Congress.
