The return to standard astronomical time will take place at 4:00 a.m. local time in the early hours of Monday, when clocks will be set back by one hour, the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology told BTA.
The change is made in compliance with Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union of 19 January 2001, the Institute recalled.
On March 30 this year, Bulgaria switched to daylight saving time.
The practice of changing between standard and daylight saving time is regulated by Council of Ministers Decree No. 94 of March 13, 1997, according to information from BTA’s Reference Department. Under the decree, standard time is introduced every year on the night before the last Sunday of October, when clocks are set back by one hour, and daylight saving time begins on the last Sunday of March, when clocks are set forward by one hour.
