President Donald Trump mocked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) on Tuesday after the two reportedly turned down a pair of “Trump 2028” hats during an Oval Office meeting.
During his meeting with the two Democratic leaders, Trump tried to give Schumer and Jeffries a pair of “Trump 2028” hats, which they refused, according to Punchbowl News senior congressional reporter Andrew Desiderio.
Jeffries reportedly then turned to Vice President JD Vance and asked him how he would feel about Trump seeking a third term, to which Vance replied, “No comment,” as the room “erupted in laughter.”
Following the meeting, Trump trolled Schumer and Jeffries with several photos of them sitting in the Oval Office next to the hats.

The president also posted another video of Jeffries as a stereotypical Mexican in a sombrero, the same day Jeffries accused Trump of racism for posting a similar video this week.
“Mr. President, the next time you have something to say about me, don’t cop out through a racist and fake AI video,” said Jeffries. “When I’m back in the Oval Office, say it to my face! Say it to my face!”
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) expressed support for an unconstitutional third Trump term in the White House last month, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity, “Trump 2028. I hope this never ends.”
