Foreign Ministry Hails Release of Gaza Hostages

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on X on Monday that it is relieved to see the release of 20 Israeli hostages from Gaza, including the Bulgarian-Israeli national Matan Angrest.
The Ministry said that this development gives hope for the implementation of the remaining points of US President Donald Trump’s plan to achieve just and sustainable peace in the Middle East.
Earlier on Monday, dpa reported that the last surviving Hamas hostages held in the Gaza Strip had been released after 738 days in captivity. The Israeli army confirmed that 13 of the hostages in the second group had been held captive since the attacks on October 7, 2023. They were handed over to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The first group of seven hostages was returned to Israel earlier. According to Israeli media, everyone released was in good condition.
Reuters reported that upon his arrival at the Israeli parliament, Trump said that Hamas would implement the disarmament plan. Asked by reporters whether the war was over, Trump said yes.
