Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, huffed at a reporter who asked him about the bribery scandal that’s plagued him for weeks.
As Homan tried to scurry past the press corps that was waiting outside the White House, a reporter tried asking him about it.
“Mr. Homan,” the reporter began — as Homan brushed her off.
“I don’t have time today, folks. I’m 20 minutes late,” Homan said, as the reporter pressed on anyway, asking: “Did you take the $50,000 cash in a bag?”
“Gimme a break!” Homan growled.
On a Wednesday night town hall hosted by NewsNation, Homan flatly denied he ever took a $50,000 bribe from an undercover FBI agent. This was the first time Homan directly denied the accusation.
“I didn’t take $50,000 from anybody,” Homan told co-host Bill O’Reilly.
Homan told Fox News host Laura Ingraham he did not commit an illegal act, but he didn’t go so far as to deny taking cash.
“Look, I did nothing criminal. I did nothing illegal,” Homan told Ingraham. “It’s hit piece after hit piece after hit piece and I’m glad the FBI and DOJ came out and said, you know, said that nothing illegal happened, no criminal activity.”
A bombshell report from MSNBC in September claimed that Homan was put under investigation in 2024 after a source tipped off the FBI, claiming “Homan was soliciting payments in exchange for awarding contracts should Trump win the presidential election.”
“The FBI and the Justice Department planned to wait to see whether Homan would deliver on his alleged promise once he became the nation’s top immigration official,” the report said. “But the case indefinitely stalled soon after Donald Trump became president again in January.”
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told MSNBC in a statement, “This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing. The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed.”
