MECh leader Radostin Vasilev told journalists in Parliament’s lobby on Friday that he will alert the competent institutions about alleged violations committed by Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov, companies connected to him, and individuals close to him associated with the Historical Park tourist attraction in Northeastern Bulgaria. Vasilev also declared the end of the Velichie party, stating that it is not a political formation but a financial pyramid.
The park was launched by Mihaylov in 2019 and promoted as a cultural and educational project showcasing Bulgarian history. It has drawn controversy over allegations of financial irregularities and misleading investment schemes resembling a pyramid model, with investors reportedly promised high returns.
Vasilev said MECh will insist on a full investigation into the people involved in the alleged schemes and will provide the gathered evidence to the relevant authorities.
In Vasilev’s words, National Audit Office President Dimitar Glavchev is “covering up” for Velichie MPs. He added that Glavchev will be summoned for a hearing in Parliament next week.
Four individuals who claimed they had been misled into investing by the Velichie parliamentary group, a company linked to Mihaylov, and Historical Park also attended the briefing.
