Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) bashed her own party — something she has apparently enjoyed doing lately — over its approach to healthcare, telling Bill Maher she was impatiently waiting for Republicans to introduce a real alternative to Obamacare.
Greene, during an appearance on Real Time on HBO on Friday, also criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) as well, saying she was “angry” he has not offered a game plan for the GOP on healthcare — or any other issues during the government shutdown.
“Mike Johnson, for a month now, cannot give me a single policy idea,” Greene said.
Maher, a moment earlier in the conversation, said he would “love to know what the Republicans really want to do about healthcare.” Greene said she was in the same boat.
“Me too. I’m waiting for the plan,” Greene said. “I haven’t seen it yet.”

(@RepMTG) She then ripped ex-President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act, saying that while it helped some Americans, it “crushed” middle class citizens and small business owners. Greene said Obamacare “skyrocketed” premiums, including for her own family.
But she then moved back to saying she was upset with her fellow Republicans for doing nothing to change it.
“Here’s why I’m angry — the Democrats passed Obamacare, but yet, the Republicans have never done anything to correct the problems that exist with it,” Greene said. “I blame my own party. That’s absolutely wrong.”
If this sounds familiar, that is because MTG has been on a bit of a hot streak when it comes to skewering her own party. She recently called male Republican congress members “weak,” and last week, she slammed GOP lawmakers for having “no plan” to end the government shutdown. Greene has also been critical of the party, in her view, dragging its feet on releasing files on sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
