Two Delta regional jets collided while taxiing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night, leaving one wing tip ripped apart and passengers thrown from their seats.
The incident involved Endeavor Air Flight 5155, bound for Roanoke, Virginia, and Endeavor Air Flight 5047, arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina.
The collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m., when the departing jet’s wing struck the fuselage of the inbound aircraft.

Flight “We got absolutely smashed by another Delta flight. I don’t know if we hit them or they hit us, but it was super jarring,” said CBS News producer Joey Annunziato, a passenger on the Charlotte flight, in a video posted to X.
He described the aftermath inside the cabin as “kind of a little chaotic,” with passengers thrown forward in their seats.
A flight attendant was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other passengers were believed to have been hurt. Emergency crews, however, rushed to the taxiway as images on social media showed a crumpled nose cone and a sheared wingtip.
The 85 passengers on board both flights were returned to the terminal, where they were offered food, hotel rooms, and rebooked flights, Delta told the New York Post.
“Delta teams at our New York-LaGuardia hub are working to ensure our customers are taken care of… the safety of our customers and people comes before all else,” the airline said.
The Port Authority confirmed there was no impact on wider airport operations, but the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are reviewing the incident.
