Balgarianovinite.com A symphony orchestra performance featuring 450 musicians from 60 countries has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the most nationalities in a choral symphony, Guinness World Records reported on its website. The concert that took place in Muddenahalli, near the Indian city of Bengaluru, on November 23, was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of spiritual leader and teacher Sathya Sai Baba and featured a performance by Theodosii Spassov Folk Quintet from Bulgaria.
The One World One Family Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dimitris Lambrianos was joined by a 70-person choir and 200 young performers from the largest school orchestra in India.
Spassov was joined on stage by his colleagues Peyo Peev on the gadulka, Ivan Georgiev on the bagpipes, Hristiyan Tsvyatkov on the guitar, and Genadiy Rashkov on the davul.
A post on Spassov’s Facebook page reads: “This is recognition for Bulgarian music and talent on the world’s biggest stage at a festival whose mission is to unite people and cultures through art. This stage features different musical traditions intertwined in a symphony of diversity, and Bulgarian traditional instruments are an important and recognizable voice in the overall harmony. This is a moment of pride—our performers represent Bulgaria by participating in a message of unity among humanity through music.”
