Laura Loomer warned fellow Republicans on Tuesday that ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is actually a “Trump hater” despite comments he made in a recent interview.

Finebaum has found himself at the center of political discourse since OutKick published an interview between himself and Clay Travis. In that interview, Finebaum revealed that he was considering running for the U.S. Senate seat in Alabama that will soon be vacated due to Tommy Tuberville’s gubernatorial campaign. Finebaum, a Republican, also revealed he voted for President Donald Trump and that he’d have no choice but to run if Trump personally endorsed him.

Then, Travis reported on Monday that Finebaum had been noticeably absent from ESPN programming over the weekend. Travis’s sources told him Finebaum had been “removed” from scheduled appearances in response to his interview with Travis, leading many to accuse ESPN of silencing him for his beliefs. The network has denied those claims, and Finebaum was back on the air Tuesday morning.

Loomer, however, believes Finebaum has a “history of radical left leaning views” and that he was “actually a Trump hater.” Starting a lengthy threads of tweets on Twitter/X, she added:

I spend A LOT of time in the Gulf of America, and you may have noticed the same way I have noticed that there has been an effort over the last 3 weeks to try to normalize ESPN host Paul Finebaum to dupe MAGA into thinking he’s conservative so he can run for US Senate in Alabama.

Paul Finebaum, an ESPN commentator with a history of radical left leaning views, is eyeing a challenge to Senator Tommy Tuberville’s @SenTuberville seat in Alabama. Finebaum has a history of outspoken criticism of President Trump and vocal support for the Black Lives Matter movement, placing him at odds with the conservative values that define the Republican Party and Alabama’s electorate.

Further down the thread, Loomer pointed to Finebaum’s criticism of Trump in 2017. At the time, he said the president “behaves like a child” and suggested that Trump was immature. Loomer also cited Finebaum’s praise of then-Alabama coach Nick Saban for participating in a Black Lives Matter march.
