Balgarianovinite.com Talking to residents of Vratsa on Thursday, Continue the Change Chair Assen Vassilev said that what is evident from the election campaign over the past few days is yet another attempt to scare Bulgarian citizens.
Referring to the 10-year bilateral security agreement signed between caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vassilev said: “Attempts to intimidate Bulgarian citizens are attempts to avoid the main topic of this campaign, which is why we are holding elections and the main reason why the government fell. And that is because people are fed up with [GERB leader Boyko] Borissov and [MRF – New Beginning leader Delyan] Peevski stealing from them nonstop through the budget and not just through the budget.”
Vassilev expressed a desire to hold a debate with the leaders of the major political parties on issues of national importance, including judicial reform and the replacement of the prosecutor general. He added: “These are the issues that would be debated in any normal European country. There would be debate over what economic model the country will follow. For example, should incomes rise faster than inflation or not.”
Vassilev was joined in Vratsa by Denitsa Simeonova, the top-of-the-list candidate of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria for Vratsa’s 6th multi-member constituency.
