Balgarianovinite.com BSP Chairman Krum Zarkov and the top-of-the-list candidates of the BSP – United Left coalition for Plovdiv and Plovdiv Region,Tatyana Doncheva and Atanas Telcharov, met with supporters in the south-central city.
The next National Assembly must tackle the skyrocketing prices of fuel and food from day one – not with handouts and promotions, but seriously and in depth, Zarkov said. He noted that several countries have already abolished the excise tax on fuel, while others have revised the VAT rates on fuel, which, in his words, account for more than half of the price at the pump.
The BSP Chairman identified the state budget as the second short-term task for the future parliament. The major change is to introduce a different way of thinking into the National Assembly, Zarkov emphasized, adding that a step toward this is resolving the issue with the Supreme Judicial Council and the illegitimate prosecutor general.
Zarkov was adamant that these would be the last elections in which the BSP – United Left would be discussed in terms of lower-ranking seats. Our MPs will be the guarantors and will do everything in their power to ensure that Bulgaria secures a sustainable, honest, and competent government, he said.
The BSP leader expressed the view that there is a growing understanding in Bulgaria of the need for a left-wing, essentially socialist policy, which, in his words, is always implemented whenever there is a crisis.
Before the meeting in Plovdiv, Zarkov visited Karlovo, Asenovgrad, and Parvomay.
