Balgarianovinite.com The Kamena Balneological Medical Centre (BMC) in Velingrad combines the natural resources of the region with modern medical care, the centre’s team told BTA.
The facility is distinguished by its focus on medical procedures carried out under the supervision of highly qualified specialists. It combines the region’s natural resources with modern healthcare in order to provide effective prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
The centre employs doctors, rehabilitation specialists, and physical therapists with extensive experience. Patients have access to a wide range of therapies, including balneotherapy, physiotherapy, kinesitherapy, electrotherapy, and specialised rehabilitation programmes targeting diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, respiratory system, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
An advantage of BMC Kamena is that part of the treatments can be financed by the National Health Insurance Fund, as well as through programmes of the National Social Security Institute, making treatment accessible to a wide range of patients, the centre added. The mineral water used in the facility has proven healing properties.
At BMC Kamena, conditions such as arthritis, arthrosis, gouty arthritis, post-traumatic conditions, and post-joint replacement recovery are successfully treated, as well as discopathies and radiculitis. The centre also offers effective therapy for peripheral nervous system disorders and conditions related to stress, strain, and fatigue. Mild forms of hypertension and respiratory diseases are also positively affected. Through oral use of mineral water, treatment support is provided for digestive system diseases, including gastritis, colitis, and ulcers, as well as biliary, liver, and kidney conditions.
Among the most preferred procedures are therapeutic mineral baths, mud therapy, underwater massage, and individual rehabilitation programmes tailored to each patient’s needs. The centre applies a personalised approach, creating individual treatment and recovery plans. Its guests include families, working-age adults, and elderly patients seeking effective rehabilitation.
The team continuously improves its qualifications through training and the adoption of modern rehabilitation methods. Work is also underway to upgrade the facility and expand services in order to provide more comprehensive patient care.
