Balgarianovinite.com The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Association of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles Abroad (ABFEA) signed a partnership agreement on May 15.
The document was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and ABFEA Chair Radoslava Nedyalkova. The signing took place at the festival at BMW Park in Munich, Germany, following the opening of the eleventh edition of the event, hosted this year by Lazarka Ensemble, which operates in the Bavarian capital. Also attending the signing was Plamen Petkov, head of Lazarka Ensemble and Deputy Chair of ABFEA.
“In the year in which the Association of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles Abroad marks its 10th anniversary, BTA and the Association are signing an agreement that will ensure even more systematic receipt of materials about the activities of the Association and its members, with copyright issues properly regulated,” Valchev said. He added that the Association has already been quite actively represented in BTA coverage.
“Last year we had 81 publications about the activities of the Association, which has already started holding meetings in Bulgaria in addition to the famous editions of the festival. By comparison, there was only one publication in 2022,” Valchev said.
According to him, the folklore ensembles of Bulgarians around the world are among the most active and valuable sources of information for BTA’s BG World Directorate.
The partnership agreement states that ABFEA brings together the efforts of leaders and dancers from Bulgarian folklore groups around the world to preserve and promote national traditions. At the core of its work is the organisation of and participation in international festivals, gatherings, creative meetings and discussion forums.
The agreement envisages that the two sides will “join efforts under conditions of partnership and cooperation to encourage the development and promotion of various activities, initiatives and events”.
Under the agreement, BTA becomes a media partner of ABFEA for the marking of and on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its establishment, which falls in 2026.
The agreement also states that BTA becomes a partner of ABFEA for various activities, initiatives and events by disseminating information about them in text, image and sound. In turn, ABFEA is to provide, where possible, access for a BTA employee or team to events organised by the association or held in partnership for coverage purposes.
