Balgarianovinite.com Romanian books are being collected at the Bulgarian stand at the International Book Fair Bookfest in Bucharest. They will be donated to the Sofia University Library.
The initiative is led by the Association of Romanian Publishers and Headsome Communication, who aim to support the study of Romanian language and literature in Bulgaria. The project is titled “The Romanian Shelf in Sofia: a library for future translators of Romanian literature.”
Organized in the context of Bulgaria’s participation as guest of honour at the Bookfest International Book Fair in Bucharest, the initiative aims to promote cultural dialogue and academic exchange between the two spaces.
“In a context marked by historical and cultural similarities, Romanian studies in Bulgaria play an important role in training future translators, researchers, and promoters of Romanian literature, contributing to better mutual understanding and the dissemination of contemporary literary works,” the initiators said in information also sent to BTA’s editorial office.
Donations can be made at the Bulgarian stand at the International Book Fair in Bucharest until the end of the event.
The Association of Romanian Publishers was founded in 1991 and is the main professional association of book publishers in Romania, bringing together publishers from all fields of cultural interest.
Headsome Communication is an organization with 13 years of experience in developing and implementing cultural projects and PR campaigns for institutions in Romania and for international institutions based in Romania. This year, it is coordinating Bulgaria’s participation as guest of honour at Bookfest, which is the tenth country in its portfolio.
