Balgarianovinite.com Stronger regional cooperation and a shared commitment to sustainable development are essential for creating a positive economic future, according to the newly elected President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham), Tommy Ver Elst. He was speaking at the opening of AmChams Regional Economic Summit (ARES) in Sofia on Thursday.

AmCham is flying its flag with the clear vision that only in cooperation can new products and services be forged, and a positive investment climate be created. This cannot be achieved in one country alone, but in a cluster of countries, and only in this way can we achieve a positive impact, said Ver Elst.
He also congratulated the United States on celebrating the 250th anniversary of its independence in 2026.
That is why this event is even more emotional. We are united by sustainable development goals, and we want to create an environment that creates a sustainable business environment. According to Ver Elst, the goal of the event in Sofia is to help build a better future through economic cooperation, innovation and connectivity.
The 3rd ARES is jointly organized by the American Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. The Bulgarian hosting is under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy, Investments and Industry, with the institutional support of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation.
The event has brought together more than 300 business leaders from 15 countries across Southeast Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, with the aim of deepening regional cooperation and strengthening economic ties.
