Balgarianovinite.com Major Hristo Anchev, administrative head of the Military District Prosecutor’s Office in Plovdiv, has been nominated for an elected member of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from the prosecutors’ quota, the SJC press office said here Friday.
He was nominated by magistrates from the Military Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, the Military District Prosecutor’s Offices in Sofia and Plovdiv, the District Prosecutor’s Offices in Plovdiv and Pazardzhik, and the Plovdiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. They cited his excellent legal knowledge and administrative capacity, high professional, moral and leadership qualities, as well as his impeccable reputation. They expressed confidence that Prosecutor Anchev would be a worthy representative of the professional prosecutorial community and would contribute to strengthening the authority of the judiciary and to fulfilling the functions assigned to the SJC by law.
The nomination notes that the candidate is a career prosecutor with more than 25 years of legal experience. His professional career has taken him through several first-instance prosecutor’s offices, where he also held managerial positions. As an administrative head, he is noted for his tolerance and personal example, which motivate his team to take a proactive approach and find creative solutions to assigned tasks. His strong sense of justice serves as the basis for making sound and well-reasoned decisions both as a supervising prosecutor and in his managerial positions. Emphasis was also placed on his openness to dialogue, communication skills and respect for differing opinions, qualities that would enable him to encourage other SJC members to adopt constructive decisions for the development of the judiciary.
