Balgarianovinite.com Pernik now has an investment portal and a network of investment ambassadors that will provide information and consultations to investors from Bulgaria and abroad, Rotary Club Pernik said here on Saturday. The initiative is civic-led, and the services are provided free of charge and without intermediaries, the organisation said.
Rotary Club Pernik has launched the online portal investpernik.com, which brings together public data on the economy of the municipality and the region and presents it in a format tailored to investors. The portal does not charge fees or receive commissions for its information and consulting services, according to a press release.
At the heart of the “Invest Pernik” initiative is the “Investment Ambassadors” network. It comprises Pernik-based companies that sign a charter and commit to responding to inquiries from potential investors, sharing information about the conditions for doing business in the region and, where possible, hosting visits.
The organisation added that the ambassadors speak solely on their own behalf, do not represent the municipal administration and do not provide consultancy services. On the first day of the initiative, more than 10 companies from the fields of information technology, logistics, transport, green transition and the creative industries joined the network.
According to data presented by the organisers, foreign direct investment in the non-financial sector in Pernik District amounted to EUR 268.4 million as of December 31, 2024. This represents about 0.8% of investment in Bulgaria, compared with the region’s nearly 1.7% share of the country’s population. Investment per capita amounts to about EUR 2,400, compared with approximately EUR 5,200 for Bulgaria as a whole.
Rotary Club Pernik noted that Pernik is located 36 kilometres from central Sofia and 37 kilometres from Sofia Airport. The city ranks second in Bulgaria in terms of road network density, while 82.8% of people aged 25 to 64 have secondary or higher education.
The bilingual portal includes key indicators for the municipality and district, sector profiles, distances to industrial locations, as well as information about the municipal Industrial Park Pernik and investment opportunities under the Territorial Just Transition Plan.
Rotary Club Pernik was chartered in 2003 as the 50th Rotary club in Bulgaria. On June 19, 2026, at a ceremony held at the Palace of Culture, Pernik rejoined the ranks of Rotary International and Rotary Bulgaria (District 2482) after a 15-year hiatus, the organisation also said.
