Balgarianovinite.com The Baroque Autumn contemporary art exhibition, featuring 18 artists from 12 countries across four continents, opened at the Palace Cultural Centre in Balchik on Wednesday.
The works on display span painting, graphic art, sculpture, textile art, object art and decorative art, using a range of techniques and reflecting distinctive artistic styles. Some were inspired by Balchik and the Palace.
Art Manager Ovidiu Carpusor introduced the participating artists and presented certificates to those who attended the opening. “I am delighted to welcome you to the official opening of the Baroque Autumn International Contemporary Art Exhibition. We have gathered at a truly special place where history and nature meet. The Palace, its beautiful gardens and unique light, Balchik and the sea have inspired generations of artists from around the world,” Carpusor said.
Carpusor said the exhibition brought together artists from different cultures and artistic traditions, united by “the common language they speak, the language of art, music and beauty”.
Pianist Martin Krystev played at the opening. Krystev performed several pieces on the grand piano in the Palace’s Stone Hall, including one of his own compositions.
The Baroque Autumn exhibition runs until September 15, 2026. Later on Wednesday, the Stone Hall will host the literature-and-music event Literature and Rock at the Palace with Iva Katsarova and Konstantin Katsarov. Admission is free. The evening will combine literature and music with a discussion of personal experiences, choices, relationships and contemporary life.
On September 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., Carpusor’s solo exhibition Archetypa Fidei: From the Sign to the Essence will open at the Quiet Nest Gallery.
