Michigan candidate for U.S.Senate Abdul El-Sayed (D) hit back at Vice President J.D. Vance on Friday for making fun of his “patchy beard” in a post on Tik Tok.
In the post, Vance said, “So, I heard that in the state of Michigan they have outlawed patchy beards. Get in, patriots, we’re gonna go arrest Abdul El-Sayed.”
Vance gets behind the wheel of a police SUV, saying, “They’re probably going to sh*t themselves when this car starts moving.”
The video ends with a montage of Vance doing his vice presidential duties in slo-mo to the song “Sound of da Police” by KRS-One.
TMZ caught up with El-Sayed, who accused Vance of being “amped up” on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and sporting a fake beard.
“If I actually met him, I’d be like, ‘All right, let’s just actually see. How much paste did you have to put on your face to get that little beard?’” El-Sayed said.
“At least mine, what you see is what you get. And at the end of the day, with my beard, I’m happy to say, look. If he thinks that my beard is somehow indicative of my strength, I’m happy to invite him to any weight room, in any place. We can do it in D.C., and let’s see. I’d love to see him on a bench. I’d love to see him on a squat. I’d like to understand if he’s as strong as he likes to pretend he is. We could squat, we could run, whatever he wants to do.”
El-Sayed then looked directly at the camera, continuing:
J.D., listen, man. You talk a good game. You went to Ohio State. Didn’t even know how to handle the trophy when you pick it up, right? And now you’re on, what? Like juiced up on TRT. I’m all natural, bro. So, I know about your — I’d like to understand what your dose is, and I’d like to understand if your beard is actually real. And at the end of the day, the bigger question, my issue with you, is not your beard, right? As much as you want to make it about my beard. My issue with you is that you, you are out here riding policy that you know is stupid.
“You go out there and defend bullsh*t policy that you know is hurting all kinds of people in my state and in yours,” El-Sayed added. “And then you try to act the tough guy, because you can’t be the tough guy to the actual boss, because you’re afraid of him.
