Deep Purple’s European Tour to Open in Sofia

The European leg of Deep Purple’s tour will begin Tuesday, September 29, at Arena 8888 Sofia, Key Events said. The event is organized by Nucoast Concerts.
The band has already embarked on its world tour, launching a series of shows across several continents. The first stop was Japan, and after visiting more than 40 cities, the tour is now coming to Sofia.
The rock legends promise to put on a spectacular show featuring music from their new album, Splat!, released on July 3. The concept behind the project is based on the idea of transformation beyond physical existence, rather than the usual apocalyptic interpretation of the end of humanity.
According to frontman Ian Gillan, the album has the feel of a “modern version of Deep Purple from the 1970s.” Joining the band in setting the mood at the venue will be musicians from Jayler. The tour follows the success of the album =1, which marked a new stage in the band’s development, also thanks to the involvement of guitarist Simon McBride.
The band is now moving forward with new additions to its setlist, combining them with fan-favourite classics. This flair for experimentation, combined with respect for established hits, is why the rock giants continue to expand their creative potential and retain their audience’s affection after more than five decades, Key Events said.
