Swiss technology company Pure Cycle Power AG, which specializes in converting waste into clean energy, plans to expand its operations in Bulgaria and establish long-term cooperation with Burgas State University (BSU), the university said on Friday.
The partnership will provide students with paid internships, practical training, real-world thesis projects, and career programs for young engineers, aiming to create a direct path from education to employment in the green technology sector. The BSU emphasized that Pure Cycle Power develops circular-economy solutions using hydrothermal processing technology that converts wet organic waste and industrial sludge into hydrogen-rich syngas and mineral salts with zero carbon emissions.
The cooperation in Burgas is supported by the region’s industrial profile and the university’s expertise in chemical technologies, environmental science, and biotechnology. The company’s delegation also visited the university’s research facilities, including water-analysis laboratories and blue-growth centers.
