Companies backed by President Donald Trump’s eldest sons have secured more than $6 billion in active or promised government contracts since receiving their investments, according to an ABC News analysis of federal contracting records.

The latest deal came Tuesday, when Trump announced a $6.6 billion investment involving defense technology company Anduril Industries, which has financial ties to Donald Trump Jr. through venture capital firm 1789 Capital, where the president’s eldest son is one of six partners. The firm took a major stake in Anduril as part of a $2.5 billion investment in June 2025.

Since then, Anduril has been awarded 135 other government contracts worth roughly $1.8 billion, ABC News reported on Wednesday, citing active contracts published through SAM.gov. The company had also received federal contracts dating back to 2019.

Among the other companies highlighted was drone manufacturer Powerus, which lists the Trump brothers as “notable investors.” It received its first Air Force purchase order one month after announcing their investment and was later awarded a contract worth up to $90 million.

Another 1789 Capital investment, automated manufacturing company Hadrian, received a $39.2 million Army agreement and a $900 million Navy deal months after the firm invested $391 million.

ABC News found that defense companies backed by Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have collectively received more than $6 billion in active or pledged government business after their investments were made.

Responding to the findings, a spokesperson for the Trump brothers told ABC News:

Don and Eric are experienced business leaders who have built and invested in businesses across a wide range of industries for decades, long before their father first ran for public office. Their investment decisions are based solely on their independent business judgment and personal convictions and they do not seek to influence, direct, or participate in any government decision, procurement, award, regulatory action, or other governmental process. Attempts to portray their ordinary investment activities as improper are a deliberate distortion of the facts.

The overlap has drawn scrutiny from senior congressional Democrats, who asked the Pentagon inspector general to investigate the contracting process in May.
