Over 60 companies presented equipment, machinery, and technological solutions for municipalities’ needs at this year’s Municipal Expo here on Sunday. The event was held within the Annual Meeting of Local Authorities, organized by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB), which marks its 30th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the founding of NAMRB-Activ.
The exhibition covers an area of approximately 1,700 square metres and includes a dedicated innovation zone, NAMRB Chair Daniel Panov said at the opening ceremony. In his words, a country is strong when it has strong municipalities. The Association brings municipalities together not only in decision-making and the exchange of knowledge, but also in efforts to implement projects and improve living conditions, he noted. Panov added that municipalities must work with the best interests of their citizens in mind and create opportunities for young people.
NAMRB-Activ Manager Lyudmila Velichkova expressed the hope that exhibitors would be satisfied with their participation and would return next year. According to her, the exhibition provides companies with an opportunity to present their products and solutions to municipal representatives, while allowing local authorities to familiarize themselves with new technologies and equipment for various areas of municipal activity.
NAMRB Executive Director Silvia Georgieva also emphasized the benefits of bringing together the business community and local government. According to her, bringing municipal leaders and companies together in one place provides an opportunity to present new technological solutions and establish partnerships.
Georgieva recalled the exhibition’s beginnings 19 years ago, when the goal was to organize an event as part of the Annual Meeting of Local Authorities where companies could present their proposals to municipalities. She noted that over the years, the activities of NAMRB-Activ have expanded, and today the company also provides consulting services and organizes national meetings.
For the company’s 20th anniversary, Georgieva presented the team with a painting symbolizing the journey thus far and the pursuit of new successes. She expressed her hope that in another 30 years, the NAMRB and NAMRB-Activ would once again celebrate anniversaries, maintaining their unity and achieving new results.
In conclusion, the participants expressed their hopes for a successful exhibition, new partnerships, and continued cooperation between municipalities and the business community.
Greetings to the participants at the opening were also delivered by members of the NAMRB Executive Board, representatives of the exhibition’s sponsors, and the Mayor of Letnitsa, Krassimir Dzhonev.
