National Assembly Chair Michaela Dotsova will attend the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in Rome on Thursday and Friday, the Parliament’s press service said.
The conference, scheduled for October 15 and 16, 2026, brings together parliamentary speakers from Council of Europe member States.
The forum’s three main themes are resilient democracies united against hybrid threats; artificial intelligence and the labour market; and renewing the rules-based international order, including parliaments’ role in addressing and responding to contemporary crises. Dotsova will address the third theme.
Italian Chamber of Deputies President Lorenzo Fontana and Italian Senate President Ignazio La Russa will open the conference alongside Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Petra Bayr and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani. Dotsova will also hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts during the forum.
Prime Minister Rumen Radev will attend the European Council meeting in Brussels on October 15 and 16, 2026. The Council of Ministers said European leaders would discuss challenges to European competitiveness, energy prices, the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034, the war in Ukraine, migration, EU enlargement and the situation in the Middle East.
