The Federation of Minor Practices is expanding its reach, the themes from Bulgaria presented in Venice are now making their way to Norway. While the Bulgarian pavilion continues its presentation at the 61st Venice Biennale, the project will also be presented at a new venue in Bodo, Norway, the National Gallery announced on Wednesday.
From October 6 to 20, 2026, the project will be on display at NOUA in Bodo as part of the Arts of Democracy week, dedicated to the connections between art, freedom of expression, and democracy. The presentation in Bodo expands the project’s reach beyond Venice. According to the National Gallery, this marks the first time a Bulgarian project from the Venice Biennale has been presented at a location outside Bulgaria and Venice.
The Federation of Minor Practices continues its presentation as part of the 61st Venice Biennale, and its parallel exhibition in Norway places the themes explored in the Bulgarian pavilion within the context of the Arts of Democracy programme, the gallery said.
The Federation of Minor Practices is the underlying project for the Bulgarian pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, which continues until November 22, 2026. The project was fulfilled by curator Martina Yordanova and artists Veneta Androva, Gery Georgieva, Maria Nalbantova and Rayna Teneva. Desislava Dimova is the commissioner of the Bulgarian pavilion. It is conceived as a fictional research laboratory that explores possible forms of post-sovereign political imagination based on care and collectively. The project includes four films that, through various artistic approaches, explore themes such as digital identity, disinformation, the connection between labour and violence, and ecological care. The exhibition is structured as an interactive environment with elements of a computer game that activates the films’ content through audience participation.
