The fifth two-day international nuclear conference and exhibition Nuclear Energy – From Ambitions to Reality will continue on Friday at the InterContinental Sofia Hotel. The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, is organised by the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum.
Participants include experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Commission, Westinghouse, Framatome GmbH, Siemens Energy, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, as well as leading Bulgarian companies and institutions, the organisers said.
Topics to be discussed on Friday include the financing of new nuclear capacity, innovation in nuclear energy and cybersecurity, and ways to accelerate the development of nuclear projects in Europe.
The conference was opened on Thursday by Energy Minister Iva Petrova, who said that the role of nuclear energy is a strategic choice for the country’s energy security, competitiveness and future.
