Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency (NRA) has carried out 228 inspections of trucks over 3.5 tonnes involved in the meat and meat-products trade, resulting in 11 security measures worth around EUR 78,000, NRA spokesman Hristo Uzunov said here Friday.
He pointed out that since September 1, the NRA has intensified monitoring across the entire supply chain, from imports and domestic purchases to warehouses and final sales. Forty storage and logistics sites operated by 10 companies are under surveillance, including six in Burgas Region, Uzunov stated.
Inspectors are checking transport documents, declared shipment numbers, routes, and stock levels against accounting records. Uzunov emphasized the measures aim to improve traceability, prevent undeclared transport and tax evasion, and curb unfair competition.
