Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) Supervisory Board Chair Delyana Ivanova has been elected to the Board of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB), the bank said on Friday. The election took place in Brussels on October 22, 2026.
Presenting her candidacy, Ivanova stressed the importance of more active exchanges of experience among members and deeper constructive dialogue with European institutions. She said promotional banks could make a significant contribution to turning European priorities into concrete investments.
Ivanova also outlined BDB’s development priorities. Support for small and medium-sized enterprises remains its main priority, with a focus on accessible and flexible financial instruments for areas facing funding shortages. The bank will seek to attract more private and institutional capital through joint investment and co-financing.
Other priorities include support for major national and regional projects, including through public-private partnerships. The aim is to improve the efficiency of public investment and expand opportunities for long-term financing of the Bulgarian economy.
The EAPB is among Europe’s established associations of credit institutions. Founded in 2000, it represents the interests of public and development banks at European level. It brings together more than 90 financial institutions from 17 countries, with combined assets of EUR 3.4 trillion and a 15% market share. BDB has been an active member since 2005.
