Balgarianovinite.com Bulgaria is entering a new stage in automotive and high-tech development, Automotive Cluster Bulgaria CEO Lyubomir Stanislavov said at Automotive Forum Bulgaria 2026 at Sofia Tech Park on Wednesday.
The international conference Automotive Forum Bulgaria 2026: The Future of Industry, Technology and Mobility, organized by Automotive Cluster Bulgaria, brought together representatives of the automotive industry, the technology sector and institutions at the John Atanasoff Innovation Forum in Sofia Tech Park and was held with BTA as media partner.
Stanislavov said Bulgaria is at the start of a new period for both the industry and the economy as a whole. He voiced hope that new international suppliers will choose the country to build production facilities.
Stanislavov said Bulgaria is expected to have its first gigafactory for lithium-ion, electric and solar batteries. He said the first project for a large data centre in the country is also expected to be unveiled in the next few months.
All this will be linked to the efforts in recent years to develop the industry at European level, Stanislavov said. He added that the forum is part of those efforts and aims not only to show the sector’s development and prospects, but also to put the industry’s main challenges on the agenda.
