Balgarianovinite.com Candidates for MPs from BSP – United Left in the Plovdiv region – Atanas Telcharov, Nikolay Gachev, Ralitsa Satanska, and Lidyia Chorbanova – have held an open discussion with residents of Brezovo, the coalitions’s press service reported. The meeting was conducted as a dialogue, with residents raising questions about rising prices, incomes, healthcare, and security. The discussion focused on the solutions the State must provide.
Telcharov stressed that a top priority was increasing incomes through active state involvement, including policies to raise wages, protect workers, and curb price speculation. He also highlighted the need for increased public investment to bring standards closer to European averages, focusing on free education, accessible healthcare, and modern infrastructure. “The State must return to where people need it most—in schools, hospitals, and support for families,” he said.
Gachev outlined specific tax proposals, including introducing a tax-free threshold and progressive taxation, enhancing accountability for large capital, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and raising the maximum contributory income to create a more sustainable social system.
