Balgarianovinite.com Bulgaria registered the highest annual increase in industrial producer prices among EU countries for a third consecutive month in June, according to the latest Eurostat data published Wednesday on their website.
Bulgaria has recorded the highest industrial producer price inflation among EU Member States since November 2024, when it was second in the EU in terms of annual growth only in January and March 2026, as well as in January 2025 and December 2024.
Nevertheless, the annual rate of industrial producer price inflation in Bulgaria slowed to 18.2% in June from 19.3% in May, when it reached its highest level since March 2025.
The largest increase was recorded in energy production, where producer prices rose by 18.8%, although this marked a slowdown from the 20.5% increase registered in May. Producer prices for intermediate goods increased by 12.5% year-on-year in June, compared with 12.8% the previous month.
Romania (14.3%) and Ireland (11.4%) ranked second and third respectively in the EU for annual growth in industrial producer prices in June.
Annual industrial producer price inflation slowed to 4.6% in the euro area in June, down from 5.9% in May, which had been the highest level since March 2023.
Energy producer prices also showed signs of slowing down, rising by 8.8% in June after increasing by 14.0% in May and 12.4% in April.
A similar downward trend was recorded across the EU, where industrial producer prices rose by 4.7% in June 2026, year-on-year, compared with 5.7% in May.
On a monthly basis, industrial producer prices in Bulgaria declined by 1.3% in June, reversing increases of 0.4% in May and 1.2% in April.
Industrial producer prices fell by 0.3% in the euro area month-over-month, compared with May, and by 0.2% across the EU. In the previous month, the index had increased by 0.2% in both the euro area and the EU.
