Balgarianovinite.com The Ministry of Tourism said in a press release on Monday that it maintains constant contact with tour operators operating in the Middle East, as well as with Bulgarian diplomatic and consular representations on the ground, and monitors the development of the Middle East conflict in real time. According to the statement, some 1,092 Bulgarian tourists have notified the Ministry that they are stranded in the conflict region.
According to Мinistry data, as of 1:30 p.m. on March 2, 2026, a total of 807 Bulgarian citizens are in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), of which 734 are on organized trips with tour operators, and 73 on individual trips. The Ministry added that 22 Bulgarian tour operators operate with tourist groups on the territory of the UAE and a total of 285 Bulgarian citizens are located in the region and adjacent tourist destinations.
The Tourism Мinistry noted that the aforementioned data covers cases explicitly submitted to the Мinistry, for which there is confirmed information on location, accommodation address and contact person. The indicated number does not include Bulgarian citizens whose flights are hindered by third countries during transit or transfer through airports in the region. The information is updated as new data is received.
The Tourism Ministry said that it is working in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the crisis headquarters formed under it.
