Balgarianovinite.com Around 30 women entrepreneurs from Bulgaria took part in a forum in Antalya, which provided opportunities to meet business leaders from Turkiye and countries in the region, as well as to present new projects aimed at building on their achievements across various sectors.
The challenges faced by women on the path to success, along with mutual support, featured prominently in the opening speeches. Among the official guests was Antalya Governor Hulusi Sahin. He addressed the participants in the forum held under his patronage: “Behind every successful man there is a woman, but what is behind every successful woman? If only we could say there is a man! Perhaps that will happen in the future. But for now, behind women stand the remnants of the obstacles they have overcome. Not only in our country, but in many other parts of the world, they face a range of barriers. In their workplaces they cannot receive the same pay as the people they work alongside. This also happens in the most developed countries in the world, which lecture us on what modernity is.”
A delegation of Bulgarian women entrepreneurs was led by Tukyan Turker, Chair of the Bulgarian-Turkish Women’s Business Club. She said: “We are coming from Sofia, which the founder of the Republic of Turkiye, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, loved so much and which remained forever in his heart. We follow his shining example, which is inseparably linked to women’s rights and support for women. I believe that within every woman lives a phoenix that is reborn after every hardship.”
She presented a project under which a school was built in Hatay following the 2023 earthquake in the region, and spoke about the opening ceremony held this last April 22.
On behalf of the Bulgarian-Turkish Women’s Business Club, Turker presented the Antalya governor with gifts symbolizing Bulgaria.
The forum continues until June 18 and includes a lecture by the club’s chair.
