Balgarianovinite.com Bulgaria aims to become a year-round health, wellness, rehabilitation and preventive-care destination, Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism (BUBSPA) representative Georgi Bogdanov said at BTA’s National Press Club on Monday.
Bogdanov, of Augusta SPA Hotel in Hisarya, was speaking at the presentation of the Turkish-language edition of BTA’s BG SPA – Health through Water catalogue, a thematic publication of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), in the Turkish capital.
The event was attended by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, Bulgarian Ambassador to Turkiye Angel Cholakov, Deputy Tourism Minister Mariela Modeva, Bulgarian National Radio’s Radio Bulgaria Editor–in–Chief Krasimir Martinov, Balkan Immigrants Economic Research and Social Assistance Foundation (BISAV) Chair Yuksel Yozkale, representatives of Bulgaria’s tourism sector, members of the Bulgarian community in Ankara, Turkish media representatives, and diplomats and guests from Bulgaria and Turkiye.
“BUBSPA is committed to positioning Bulgaria among Europe’s leading health tourism destinations by drawing on the country’s exceptional mineral waters, favourable climate, medical expertise, modern SPA infrastructure and strong international partnerships. Through innovation, education and strategic market development, the organization continues to work for the sustainable growth and international recognition of Bulgarian health tourism. We are turning Bulgaria into a year–round destination for health, wellness, rehabilitation and preventive care,” Bogdanov said during the presentation.
The BG SPA – Health through Water catalogue was produced in institutional partnership with the Tourism Ministry and with organizational support from BUBSPA. In the publication, BTA, which marked its 128th anniversary in February, presents news from 128 certified SPA, wellness and medical SPA centres in Bulgaria, whose total number exceeds 200. The catalogue has so far been published in Bulgarian, English, Romanian and Turkish, with all versions also available electronically on BTA’s website.
