Balgarianovinite.com The National Assembly Wednesday will debate at first reading a bill amending the Waste Management Act, submitted by Democratic Bulgaria (DB), according to the Parliament’s draft agenda for this week. As the first Wednesday of the month, parliamentary groups may propose items that must be included on the agenda.
The DB bill proposes a major reform of the regulatory framework governing waste recovery organizations and entities that fulfill their obligations individually under the Waste Management Act. The aim is to shift from a licensing regime to a registration-based system, as well as to transfer some oversight responsibilities from the Ministry of Environment and Water to the National Revenue Agency and the National Customs Agency.
At the proposal of Continue the Change, MPs will debate amendments to the VAT Act that would raise the VAT registration threshold to EUR 84,874. The aim is to reduce the administrative and financial burden on small and micro-enterprises and encourage entrepreneurship, the bill’s reasoning reads.
A draft resolution instructing the Council of Ministers to take immediate steps to request an exemption from the ban on importing and purchasing crude oil and petroleum products originating from Russia or exported from Russia has been placed on the agenda at the proposal of Vazrazhdane.
The National Assembly will also debate at first reading amendments to the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria Act, submitted by Progressive Bulgaria (PB). MPs will also consider a draft resolution, proposed by GERB-UDF, tasking the energy minister with negotiating the terms and conditions under which Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD would acquire a stake in the rights and obligations under the contract for the exploration and prospecting of oil and natural gas in Block 1-26 Khan Tervel.
On Thursday, Parliament will vote on the election of a governor and deputy governor of the National Health Insurance Fund. This will be followed by a hearing of Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Shishkov on the state of the contracts signed for the construction of the Hemus Motorway and the steps planned for the project’s implementation.
Thursday’s draft parliamentary agenda also includes first-reading debates on two bills amending the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria Act, submitted by DB and PB.
The first Friday of the month will feature a quick Question Time session, followed by the regular Question Time session.
