Balgarianovinite.com Türkiye is preparing an agreement with Russia and Ukraine, similar to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which was reached after the beginning of the war, said the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, answering a question about the Black Sea security, the increasing number of attacks on ships, and the possibility of a new agreement being reached between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea region, with Türkiye acting as mediator. He made the comment during a press confrenence broadcasted live on the official social media accounts of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Hakan Fidan explained that the Russia-Ukraine war is an issue not only for the security in the Black Sea, but also for global security. This war is the reason why grain products from Russia and Ukraine are unable to reach the global markets. Hence why many countries have appealed to Türkiye to do something. There is an agreement, on which Türkiye is working and is currently in contact with both countries regarding this, added Fidan.The Turkish Foreign Minister participated in the first meeting of the new military alliance between Türkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, which was created on August 7 with an agreement, signed in Mecca. During that meeting the Foreign Ministers, the Defence Ministers, and the military leaders of the three countries were also present. After the meeting, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that the official name of the union is Mecca Defense Alliance. “First and foremost, we reached an agreement on the official name of our alliance. The official name of our alliance is the Mecca Defense Alliance. As you know, the Mecca Defense Alliance Agreement envisaged the establishment of a secretariat. It was decided that this secretariat would be established in Riyadh. There had also been a general agreement that the first Secretary-General would be a Pakistani colleague” announced Hakan Fidan.He also noted that the alliance is not aimed against other countries and its goal is to promote peace and stability in the region.The Turkish Foreign Minister explained that the Mecca Defense Alliance does not override obligations under other agreements and alliances, with NATO taking precedence, nor does it replace them.
