Balgarianovinite.com French electro groove band Deluxe is returning to Sofia for a concert this autumn two years after its last performance in Bulgaria. The show will take place at Sofia’s FOMO club on November 26, the Fest Team promotion company reported on Saturday. Deluxe has included Bulgaria in its international tour, La Tournée qui fait plaisir.
Formed by six childhood friends, the band has developed a distinctive sound by blending funk, jazz, rock, pop and hip-hop into energetic, rhythm-driven songs. Their visual production is equally striking, combining vivid colours, eccentric costumes and their trademark moustaches, Fest Team said.
The band was discovered in 2007 by French group Chinese Man while busking on the streets of Aix-en-Provence. Deluxe initially began as a trio consisting of guitarist Pierre “Pietre” Coll, bassist Simon “Kaya” Caillat and drummer Vianney “Kilo” Elineau. They were later joined by percussionist Sacha “Soubri” Bertocchi and saxophonist Clement “Pepe” Barba. In 2010, the group found its vocalist, Elisa Pascale Poublan, known as “Liliboy”. Her arrival helped propel the band to even greater success at concerts across France and neighbouring European countries.
From their early days as street musicians to headlining tours, appearances at major festivals and sold-out venues, including the Olympia Hall in Paris, the group has become renowned for its explosive live performances, combining outstanding musicianship with an infectious sense of humour, Fest Team said. Away from the stage, Deluxe also organizes its own Super Moustache Festival, further reinforcing its independent spirit and its distinctive approach to engaging with audiences.
After releasing seven studio albums, the band continues to evolve its sound while remaining true to its roots. Last year, it released its first self-produced album, Ça fait plaisir, marking the group’s 15th anniversary.
With an established presence on the French music scene and a growing international following, Deluxe is increasingly turning its attention to audiences around the world, bringing its distinctive sound and stage presence to global venues.
