Balgarianovinite.com Since the beginning of 2026, Bulgaria’s Commission for Anti-Corruption and Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CACIAF) has confiscated assets worth more than EUR 2 million (BGN 4.266 million) in favour of the State, the commission’s press office told BTA on Monday, outlining results from its civil forfeiture activities.
The seized assets include both real estate and movable assets – more than 35 properties, among them four apartments, three houses, 16 agricultural and land plots (fields, vineyards, meadows and shares in business properties), as well as 12 commercial, industrial and warehouse buildings with adjacent land.
A total of 87 vehicles have also been confiscated, including 80 passenger cars, four trucks, one specialized vehicle, one motorcycle and one trailer. In addition, shares and company stakes worth EUR 21,800 (BGN 42,638) have been seized.
The individuals whose assets were confiscated have been charged or convicted of serious crimes such as participation in organized crime groups, money laundering, human trafficking, drug distribution, phone fraud, extortion and usury, among others.
