Vazrazhdane leader and presidential candidate Kostadin Kostadinov visited Shumen on Sunday, where he laid flowers at the Monument to Shumen Residents Who Died in the Wars in Crystal Square and spoke with citizens at the party’s campaign stand on Slavyanski Boulevard.
The publication Bulgaria 1400 – National Doctrine for Governance of Vazrazhdane was also distributed to citizens. Kostadinov gave those attending copies of a Rodinovedenie textbook he authored. He said he had written the textbook because he did not want his children to study from textbooks that distorted Bulgaria’s history.
Kostadinov stressed that Bulgaria was the oldest nation-state and a creator of European civilisation, having developed its own civilisational and cultural model, which, he said, Bulgarians should be proud of. He also claimed that Bulgaria had created three alphabets: the runic alphabet of the Proto-Bulgarians, the Glagolitic alphabet and the Cyrillic alphabet, which is used by more than 250 million people.
Kostadinov also discussed Vazrazhdane’s ideas for Bulgaria’s future and the party’s priorities. He said the party’s campaign was focused on the future and on what it considered important for the country’s development.
According to Kostadinov, these priorities included independence, prosperity, unity, educational and scientific progress, and strength, including Bulgaria having its own army and currency. He said the next president should, above all, be Bulgarian and have a strong backbone.
