Balgarianovinite.com Prosecutor Krasimira Filipova of the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office has been nominated for an elected member of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from the prosecutors’ quota, the SJC said.
She was nominated by magistrates from the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office, the Sofia Appellate and District Prosecutor’s Offices, the Military Appellate Prosecutor’s Office and the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. They said that, as an experienced and respected lawyer, she possesses the personal, professional and moral qualities necessary to be elected an SJC member. Emphasis was placed on her exceptional diligence, thoroughness, competence and sense of responsibility, as well as her teamwork skills, initiative and integrity.
Prosecutor Filipova’s long career in the judiciary began as a junior prosecutor at the Botevgrad Regional Prosecutor’s Office in 2001, and in 2003 she was appointed prosecutor there. Between 2003 and 2010, she served as prosecutor, deputy regional prosecutor and acting administrative head of the Kostinbrod Regional Prosecutor’s Office, after which she became deputy district prosecutor of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office and deputy administrative head of the Sofia Appellate Prosecutor’s Office. From January 30, 2020, to June 16, 2023, she served as Deputy Prosecutor General and headed the work of prosecutors in the Judicial and Administrative Departments. She has since served as a prosecutor at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office.
She has also served as deputy justice minister from January 6, 2016, to January 27, 2017.
