Controversial streamer Clavicular, who has built a sizable following around the online “looksmaxxing” movement, has been charged with rape and drugging a person for sex in a case involving a minor in Massachusetts, according to The Bulwark.
Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, was charged in a Cape Cod courthouse on Sept. 8 with one count each of rape, drugging a person for sex, and providing alcohol to a minor, The Bulwark reported on Monday. The charges stem from an alleged May 23, 2025 incident.
It doesn’t seem that Peters, 20, has been arrested. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 14. His publicist declined to comment to The Bulwark. A rape conviction could carry up to 20 years in prison, while convictions on either the rape or drugging charge would require him to register as a sex offender.
As explained by the outlet, the criminal charges appear to concern allegations also raised in a civil lawsuit filed in Florida by influencer Aleksandra Mendoza, known online as Alorah Ziva.
Mendoza alleges she was 16 when she met Peters in 2025 and that he gave her $1,000 to appear in his videos as the female face of “looksmaxxing.”
According to the lawsuit, Peters later paid for Mendoza to travel by Uber to his parents’ Cape Cod home, where she alleges she was given alcohol before Peters invited her into his bedroom.
“Peters then had sex with Mendoza while she was knowingly intoxicated, to the point where she was unable to give consent,” the lawsuit states. “That morning, while Mendoza was asleep, she woke up with Peters penetrating her and having sex with her, again without her consent.”
Mendoza’s lawsuit also accuses Peters of injecting her cheeks with a fat-dissolving substance months later in Miami, allegedly perforating her right cheek in the process.
As The Bulwark notes, the charges come as Peters has gained wider attention beyond his livestreaming audience, with “looksmaxxing,” his term for efforts to maximize one’s physical appearance, recently added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
