A bank account “affiliated” with the Congolese government is at the center of what’s been described as the “ultimate MAGA blood feud” between Alina Habba Mildon and Ric Grenell.
A growing feud between Grenell and Habba Mildon over approximately $6 million that was meant to go to the Kennedy Center all ties back to a bank account in the Congo, according to The New York Times.
The Times previously reported Habba bringing concerns about a $17 million transfer her now-husband Turhan Mildon, a Turkish businessman with interests in Venezuela, made to Grenell. Part of that money was supposed to go to the Kennedy Center, which Grenell ran at the time, but it allegedly never did.
“This is the ultimate MAGA blood feud,” one insider said at the time.
Another described the two as “going to war.”
The White House has since reportedly launched a probe into the matter.
Habba, a former personal lawyer to the president, was married in September. She and Grenell were reportedly friends previously, but have faced a falling out in recent months over this money issue.
According to the new Times report, which cites multiple people familiar with the situation, the White House discovered that the initial transfer came from “a bank account affiliated with the Congolese government.”
The transfer was sent in May 2025 to TX-AT, a Texas security firm. Grenell previously consulted for the firm.
Turhan Mildon acknowledged to The Times that he is an advisor to Congo President Félix Tshisekedi and he has a diplomatic passport in the country.
Grenell, a special envoy to the president, previously dismissed accusations about missing money as a “lie.”
“Absurd. I’ve never asked for one cent to be sent somewhere else pretending it was for the Kennedy Center, and I’ve never received any payment from him at all. Make him give proof to what he is saying, not make these absurd allegations,” the longtime Trump advisor said.
