Journalist Jim Acosta recalled President Donald Trump ogling him during his first term in office, exclaiming, “He’d make eye contact!”
Acosta, a former CNN anchor, sat down with progressive podcaster Jennifer Welch on Sunday to discuss her new book, Not Today, Fascists.
Welch first remembered interviewing Miles Taylor, who served as chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security during Trump 1.0. According to Taylor, during speeches made during the president’s first term, “Trump request[ed] to have the hot guys visible.”
“I will tell you,” elaborated Acosta, “during the first term when I covered him over at the White House, he would kind of look in the press area and he would see me sometimes and he’d make eye contact and be like [approving nod].”
“And I’d be like, ‘Noo! Please, dear God, no! This is not going any farther than this!’” Acosta continued, his eyes widening.
The former CNN chief White House correspondent then mentioned Trump’s praise of Jaxson Dart, the injured quarterback for the New York Giants. At a rally in May, the president called him a “beautiful guy,” emphasizing, “He’s got legs like tree trunks!”
“Why is he so horny for this quarterback?” Acosta wondered.
Trump has gained major attention as of late for his focus on the rear end of Sen. Jon Husted (R-OH), explaining on multiple occasions that after learning the senator was a former All-American defensive back at the University of Dayton, “I looked, and I watched up and down. I looked at his a*s, and I looked at the whole – and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these, like, claws.”
“His a*s, sh*t, it’s like, it’s like a pile of muscle!” the president added during another speech.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper even dubbed Trump “the a*sman-in-chief” last week.
