Balgarianovinite.com The Executive Сouncil of the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) political party Tuesday decided to nominate its leader, Radostin Vasilev, for president. Former MP of MECh Krasimir Manov will run for vice president in the October 25 elections, the party’s press office reported.
Radostin Vasilev was born on January 1, 1985, in Pleven (Northern Bulgaria). He graduated from Anastasia Dimitrova Secondary School in 2003 and in law from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. He is a lawyer and politician who works in international sports law and doping cases, according to information on the party’s website. Vasilev has advised athletes, sports federations and sports clubs. He speaks English.
A check on the National Assembly’s website shows that he was a national representative in the 45th, 46th, 47th, 48th, 49th and 51st National Assembly. He chaired the Legal Affairs Committee in the 45th National Assembly as an MP of the There Is Such a People Party. From December 13, 2021 to August 2, 2022, he was Minister of Youth and Sports. He was an MP of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria in the 48th and 49th National Assembly. In October 2023, he founded the MECh party, of which he was an MP in the 51st National Assembly.
