Balgarianovinite.com Medica Albena Medi Spa has introduced a new programme focused on metabolic and gastrointestinal health, Deputy Marketing and Sales Director Velina Gyumova told BTA.
The initiative expands the centre’s medical services and targets patients with digestive and metabolic conditions. A key element is a gastro-integrative programme developed with Iskren Kotsev, combining diagnostics, therapy and recovery, offered alongside stays at Flamingo Grand.
Operating since 1986, the centre integrates medical expertise, balneotherapy and modern spa practices. It offers a wide range of treatments, including hydrotherapy, mud therapy, physiotherapy and healing massages, using natural resources such as mineral water, healing mud and herbal products.
Its main markets include Bulgaria and German- and French-speaking countries, with strong participation through health insurance schemes.
Among key challenges, Gyumova highlighted partnerships with health funds, transport connectivity and the need for specialized channels to attract patients. Future development includes a new outdoor rehabilitation fitness area with equipment by KOMPAN.
BTA presents news from certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres in Bulgaria in its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water feature. Their total number exceeds 200. The initiative, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, is linked to Europe’s leading health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, which will be held from May 11 to 13, 2026, in Varna, Sts. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. BTA will be the event’s main media partner.
