WASHINGTON, D.C. — OpenSecrets, the nation’s premier nonpartisan research organization tracking money in U.S. politics and its effect on elections and public policy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Loeffler and Peter Osnos to its board of directors. Their joining comes at a pivotal time as OpenSecrets continues to expand its data capabilities and analysis to meet the challenges of the 2026 election cycle and beyond.

About the New Board Members
- Rachel Loeffler is a veteran executive in the media, technology and financial information and technology sectors. She currently serves as Chief Growth Officer at Politico, bringing decades of experience in data strategy, product development, and scaling information services. Her career includes leadership roles at organizations such as Reorg, Updater and S&P Global Market Intelligence, where she specialized in making complex data accessible and actionable for global markets. Her expertise will bolster OpenSecrets’ efforts to modernize its data infrastructure, reach new audiences and guarantee our sustainability.

- Peter L.W. Osnos is a distinguished publisher, journalist and author. Over a career beginning in the 1960s, he served as a correspondent for The Washington Post as well as foreign and national editor. He joined Random House in 1984 and was a senior editor, vice president and publisher of the Times Books division. In 1997, he founded PublicAffairs Books, which is now an imprint of Hachette Book Group. He is the author of “An Especially Good View: Watching History Happen” among other works.
