Deputy Mayor Zahariev said that with the Festival, Pamporovo joins the ranks of major Alpine and global resorts that host such large-scale events. He expressed the hope that DECATHLON Persenk Ultra will inspire more children and encourage many more people to reconnect with nature and physical activity.
Pamporovo AD head Prisadov noted that this is the first time Pamporovo hosts a world-class event during the summer season. He added that DECATHLON Persenk Ultra is expected to become an annual event and grow into an even larger competition. In recent years, Pamporovo AD has invested in various summer sports activities, events, and initiatives related to hiking, mountain biking, and more. According to Prisadov, the trail running event is something new that would bring people back to the mountains. All routes for the festival have been mapped and will be available year-round in the future for mountain and sports enthusiasts visiting Pamporovo.
The sporting event is accompanied by a festival programme featuring theatre performances, concerts, and DJ parties, as well as children’s workshops and a folk dance workshop.
