Balgarianovinite.com In Pleven, citizens are gathering for a rally in front of the building of the Ivan Radoev Drama and Puppet Theatre in support of the government. The rally was registered with the municipal administration by the regional council of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF).
One of the organizers, municipal councilor and deputy chairman of the Pleven Municipal Council, Vasil Petkov, who is a member of MRF, told BTA that they are gathering not for a party rally, not for a protest, but for a rally of the citizens of Pleven region. According to Petkov, the idea of the event is to say “No to hatred toward institutions”, referring to the police, fire services, teachers, and doctors. Petkov added that they also want to say “no to the hatred toward one another that various political formations are spreading.” The organizers want to live in a normal country, “and not, when something doesn’t please them, to go to the center of Sofia and break things.”
Protesters are carrying signs that read “Bulgaria is one. Do not divide us” and “Bulgaria’s path is the European Union and NATO.”
Citizens also gathered for protests in Lukovit, Vetovo, Razgrad, Shumen, and Kardzhali, initiated by MRF-New Beginning.
