Balgarianovinite.com The 13th TheatAir International Street Arts Festival in Plovdiv will feature artists from nine countries and more than 30 performances from September 4 to 7, the organizers said on Tuesday.
The festival will open with a grand parade along the city’s main street, starting at the Roman Stadium and ending at the Central Post Office, featuring all participating artists who will transform Plovdiv’s streets, parks and neighborhoods with street theatre, circus, acrobatics, music, giant puppets and family shows.
For the third consecutive year, TheatAir is expanding beyond the city center, as parks across the city will host performances over three days, bringing culture closer to local communities. Highlights include a tightrope walk between two fire trucks and a vertical dance performance on the Central Post Office façade. A special workshop will also create giant street puppets, including a spectacular 5-meter bird puppet, presented on September 7.
TheatAir is supported by Plovdiv Municipality and the Ministry of Culture.
